Public art matters. If you've ever spent time people watching near Chicago's Cloud Gate, you understand. Thousands of people speaking various languages visit this public sculpture daily to take photos, meet with friends, or just sit and reflect. Public art can put a location on the map!

For nearly 30 years, the Village of Flossmoor has been able to accomplish this same place-making, on a smaller scale.  Flossmoor has been able to provide nearly 50 sculpture installations for the public to enjoy, thanks to donations. Sculptures include pieces by world-famous artists, such as Richard Hunt (Uplifted in Leavitt Park), as well as up-and-coming artists, such as William O'Brien (Blue Moon / Purple Rising / Spine, Spindle, Heart in Flossmoor Park).

Tax dollars have never been used to fund public art in our Village. Sculptures are installed and maintained through private donations. These contributions have had a tremendous impact on our community, and we are encouraged to continue its success. Your help is needed! Every dollar counts, and we'd be honored if you'd consider a donation to Flossmoor's public art program. We know that there are hundreds of causes that you can contribute to, and we appreciate your consideration. Donation options are shown below, and all are tax-deductible to the extent the Internal Revenue Code allows.

With your help, our public art program will continue to grow. I hope you continue to enjoy the art in our Village for many years to come.

Sincerely, Mayor Michelle Nelson
